Dato’ Sri Yap Ngan Choy
Founder / Group Managing Director
Dato’ Sri Yap Ngan Choy is the founder and Group Managing Director NCT Group. With over 42 years of experience in construction and property development, he began his career as a tiling contractor before venturing into the construction industry in 1985 with the establishment of his own company. By 1997, he had expanded further into construction and subsequently into property development, laying the foundation for what is today NCT Group.
Over the course of his career, Dato’ Sri Yap has led and completed a wide range of tiling, construction and property development projects across Malaysia, spanning hotels, condominiums, residential communities, commercial complexes and key government developments, including the Prime Minister’s Office in Putrajaya. In 2008, he played a pivotal role in the rehabilitation of major abandoned developments, notably Bandar Salak Perdana — one of the largest of its kind in Malaysia — as well as the Grand Ion Delemen development in Genting Highlands. Collectively, these projects represent an estimated gross development value of RM1.0 billion.
In recognition of his contributions to the industry, Dato’ Sri Yap has received numerous personal accolades, including the Asia Honesty Entrepreneur Award by the Asia Excellence Entrepreneur Federation (AEEF) in 2013, the SME Entrepreneur of the Year Award by The BrandLaureate in 2014, and the Excellence Entrepreneur Award at the Malaysia Golden Entrepreneur Awards in the same year.
